Unusual Engagement Rings: What are the Best Ones? .
ByEngagement rings come in different shapes, sizes and varieties. Just as clothing choices are different, there are also people who will make and design unusual engagement rings that are just right for you. Choices differ and, if one has the time, one can shop around for the right engagement ring. Here, I present some of the most unique engagement rings that I have seen:
Claddagh rings – these are pretty yet unique engagement rings that not many people have nowadays. These rings generally depict a crowned image of two hands holding a heart. These unusual engagement rings are forged in either gold or silver and were used by the Irish people to proclaim love for their fiancée. But with the passage of time, these unusual engagement rings lost their sheen in people’s eyes and not favored now, but if you put in some effort, you may find a vintage or antique Claddagh ring.
Eternity bands – Wearing three bands of unusual engagement rings can be witnessed among some North American cultural communities. One will be an engagement ring, the second a wedding ring and the third is referred to as an eternity band. These bands are also given as a part of a wedding set. These unusual engagement rings are seen in only one geographical area.
Puzzle engagement rings – these are one really great variety of unusual engagement rings. Grooms in Greece give their loved ones a beautiful puzzle ring that has to be solved by her. These rings have three interlocking rings, which, when separated, transforms into a new and unique design.
Interlocking unusual engagement rings – men in Russia tend to give their women interlocking rings of three different colored metals. Rose gold, silver and yellow gold are used to show love, chastity and fidelity of the groom towards the bride.
Flea markets are awash with antique and unusual engagement rings and one can see a range of designs here. You can get unusual engagement rings here which were made by men for their beloved. A few of the more unusual engagement rings design that I came across were silver and jade rings that were engraved with the lady’s name, cameo rings that had lovely opals set in the center of the ring, art deco rings that were pretty to look at but were extremely expensive, Cartier tank rings that were a little shabby but set in silver, gold and amber rings that were really pretty to look at with small insects stuck forever inside the amber, Mother’s rings that were inscribed with names and genealogies of several generations of women wearing the same ring, and family rings that had the family crest on them.
