Swimwear: An Amazing Selection of Styles

By

One of the most interesting parts of planning for summer is selecting a swimsuit.  There are a ton of options, varying from modest to sexy.

One piece bathing suits have been around a long time.  They are the original swimsuit style.  One piece swimsuits look like leotards and have very similar fit; the only difference is they are designed for swimming and water activities.  One piece swimwear are popular among women who do plenty of water sports because they stay on so well and provide a good amount of coverage.

For even more coverage than a one piece swimwear, try a swim dress.  Swim dresses are the most modest kind of swimsuit available, but they are still cute and stylish.  Several women buy a swim dress not because of the modesty factor, but simply because they are more feminine than other kinds of swimsuits.

The third classic type of bathing suit is the bikini, but this is a classic for different reasons.  When swimsuit was first invented, bikinis would not have been acceptable at all.  However, as the female body became more acceptable in modern society, so did bikinis.  Bikinis have gained much fame as the sexiest bathing suit option.

Tankinis are a mix of a one piece swimwear and a bikini.  They are two piece bathing suit, with the top like a tank top and the bottom being a regular bikini bottom.  Tankinis are usually worn by younger girls or women who want the look of a two piece bathing suit but want the coverage of a one piece.

Skirtinis are tankinis with skirted bottoms.  They are becoming more popular as modesty becomes more fashionable.  Several women like skirtinis because they’re more feminine than tankinis and provide a little bit more coverage.

The newest swimsuit style is the monokini.  Monokinis are like one piece swimwear, but with the sides and sometimes other areas cut out.  They make a daring statement, and are competing with bikinis as the sexiest swimsuit on the market.

With such a wide selection of bathing suits, it can be hard to narrow it down to what you want.  In that kind of dilemma, there is only one thing to do: try them all!
